Aftermarket parts supplier First Brands Group, who owns Anco and Trico wiper blades, Raybestos brakes, and Fram filters, is entering a rushed Chapter 11 bankruptcy without a reorganization plan (bet all upper management were paid millions to make that corporation successful instead, right?)

Lenders to the parent company of the Trico and Fram brands burned by the auto parts supplier’s use of off-balance-sheet financing quickly assembled a $1.1 billion emergency lifeline to prevent the business from completely unraveling.

They also own the lightbulb division of Philips, as well as the remanufactured parts brand Cardone, the lift support brand Strong-Arm, the towing division of Westfalia, and brake brands Centric, Carlson, and International Brake Industries. Furthermore, they also own Bargman, Bulldog, Draw-Tite, Fulton, Reese, Tekonsha, Wesbar, Airtex, Autolite, Carter, Luberfiner, Hopkins, and Petroclear

    I wasn't surprised to see this after the way they bought up all of these brands and gutted them. This is what happened to me when they bought Autolite and eventually eliminated all but one engineer from our staff. I read an article from Financial Times, I believe, which talked about how First Brands had to resort to leveraging their inventory and customer invoices to keep their business afloat. The article also said that Apollo Asset Management, who owns Tenneco, held a short position on First Brands. So they must have expected First Brands to fail.
