The incident happened at the Carmel Mountain Road Costco on July 2, 2024, and was caught on security cameras.
The man now suing the officer and other members of the police department is a Homeland Security agent.
In a matter of minutes, frustration often found in a crowded Costco parking lot accelerated to 53-year-old Chu Ding being rendered unconscious.
“He was knocked cold after his head struck the pavement,” attorney Eugene Iredale said.
Iredale is representing Ding in a lawsuit against the city, San Diego police Officer Jonathan Ferraro and other members of the department.

"Two days before the Fourth of July 2024, off duty police officer Jonathan Ferraro stopped his truck, blocking 53-year-old Chu Ding in a Costco parking lot.
After Mr. Ding tapped on the trunk of the truck to let Ferraro know that he was leaving from his parking place, Ferraro jumped out of his truck, enraged, calling Mr. Ding a “Chinese piece of shit.”
Ferraro shoved Mr. Ding. When Mr. Ding refused to back down, Ferraro who is two decades younger, picked Mr. Ding up and slammed him into the ground, causing Mr. Ding to suffer a concussion, loss of consciousness and a dislocated shoulder.
Six of Ferraro’s fellow officers then arrived in three marked patrol cars and handcuffed the injured Mr. Ding and placed him in the back of a patrol car for several hours. One of them, defendant Richards, refused to loosen Mr. Ding’s handcuffs had been placed so tight that they caused excruciating pain for hours.
They did not ask Mr. Ding a single question.
Later, two detectives arrived and after reviewing the footage from Costco which showed Ferraro as the aggressor, transported Mr. Ding to their station to interrogate him. They did so because they knew the District Attorney’s Office would not prosecute Mr. Ding given the evidence.
For five hours, defendants denied Mr. Ding food, water and medical care, pressuring him to sign an apology letter to Ferraro. Mr. Ding, who had been placed in custody at 3 PM, was finally given pain medication at the emergency room after 8 PM"
Any questions from anyone that automatically defends police, or thinks I make up this outrageous racist and abusive agro bullshit?
I hope that Ferraro gets prison for attempted murder AND that police across the country lose the bullshit immunity that prevents everyone from getting them in court, on the defense side, losing their cases, and their jobs, and going to prison
Oh, and insult added to injury? Ding was charged with a felony: obstructing a police officer while doing their duty.
What was it NWA said about cops? Oh, yeah, ... fuck the police. Racist assholes with govt immunity to their illegal, and civil rights violating, actions
