Every "shortage" or workers is really just a shortage of wages, or the workers just being treated like dirt. There is no shortage of workers that cant be solved by dramatically raising the pay and treating them with more respect.
That said, its nice to see a company doing something about it, Caterpillar dealerships have been offering this for a few years. but part of the problem is that Ford and everyone else is making the vehicles so so complicated, on purpose, with the goal of making sure that no one except the dealership can service or repair it. Theres stories of F-150s that wont crank if the tail lights get wet, because it shorts out the computer in the tail lights, ( what genius thought that was a good idea?) and that takes down the whole computer network in the truck.
