As Steven Spielberg continues makng a movie starring Emily Blunt, there’s a casting call for local New Jersey residents with cars for a “big scene” filming later this month

Spielberg is filming the movie throughout Jersey — last week in North Jersey and today and next week in South Jersey — but this particular scene will be filmed in Middlesex County.

Jersey drivers are sought to work as background actors, or extras, March 27.

People with cars participating in the Middlesex County scene will be paid $216 for eight hours of work if they are Screen Actors Guild members and $181.50 for 10 hours of work if they are non-SAG. The car allowance for the filming is $37.50.

Anyone interested in being cast can send an email to nonview@gwcnyc.com with the subject line “3/27/25 CARS” and should include this information:

Their name and preferred pronouns, phone number, whether or not they are a SAG member, confirmation that they are 18 and have a driver’s license, availability with their car on March 27, their car’s year, color, make and model. Attach current, non-professional photos of themselves and one of their car. Extras must present identification.

  1. I'm no where near New Jersey but I was curious and looked at the link, and I see no preference for model years of car desired. Will this be another one of those feature films that drive us car people crazy with 1979 cars in the background of scenes supposedly set in 1972?
