another city finds what a BIG mistake they've made outsourcing work.. Charleston hired hired Flowbird, a global parking company, to replace the city's nearly 1,600 parking meters

A year later, the company has only replaced about 700 meters, and, of those, about half aren't functioning properly

Parking fees generate more than $45 million in the city's budget

The fees are the third-highest revenue earner for the city behind property taxes (about $120 million) and business licenses ($52 million).

My take on this? Greedy city managers will eventually learn what a mistake it is to have the fewest employees on staff, and that relying on contractors to do the work the locals were GOOD AT is a moronic idea
