It's so rare to see a vehicle never sold in the USA

So I looked it up, the Chery Tiggo is a Chinese built crossover SUV sold in Mexico

  1. Did you notice that it is spelled "Chirey", with an I on the back of the car? They had to change the spelling because Malcolm Bricklin owns the rights to use the name "Chery" in North America. Apparently, he was working with Chery to import their cars to North America in the early 2000s, and Chery was working with another company behind Bricklin's back.

I didn't realize Malcolm Bricklin is still alive. Reading through his history, he probably made himself a lot of money, but he never really had any long-term successes.

    1. WHOA! I wondered WHY the spelling was different on the vehicle! That's nuts! He won that round! I've learned his story, somewhere along the way of the past 18 years of blogging about cars... he never stopped, he kept trying to nail that golden ring
