Did you notice that it is spelled "Chirey", with an I on the back of the car? They had to change the spelling because Malcolm Bricklin owns the rights to use the name "Chery" in North America. Apparently, he was working with Chery to import their cars to North America in the early 2000s, and Chery was working with another company behind Bricklin's back.
I didn't realize Malcolm Bricklin is still alive. Reading through his history, he probably made himself a lot of money, but he never really had any long-term successes.
