It's rare to see a Monza being driven, but extra rare because this was a dealer option Mirage. I saw there were less than 4000 sold. I found an article about the Monza Mirage on Autopia, and here's how the author summed it up: "Starting off as a steaming pile, the Monza Mirage version takes inspiration from a truly impressive race car and transforms that steaming pile into a steaming pile with big plastic crap stuck to it. And stripes."
And that the late 70s cars sucked so much, is why they are so incredibly rarely seen being driven. I think it's extra special to see something that sucked so bad only one person even has one to show... the Gillette car, ugliest thing I've ever seen... Brubaker Box, etc. I'm not praising them, their looks or design, just the fact that they still move under their own power with what is likely, nothing but junkyard and ebay parts to replace the stuff that falls off
I owned a Mirage in the 80's while in the Air Force, it's 305 did just as well as the 302's in Mustangs back then.......I even ran the same wheels as shown in photo. The Amazing part of all this is that it still has the front spoiler!!
