a Grandma car if there ever was one, a slant 6 Barracuda (it's a travesty to have an underpowered car with a cool aggressive name)

  1. Aaw,c'mon mate. In '62 when the Valiant released here with 145HP. there was nothing near it! Took some years till Ford got near it(not counting V8's) and Holden never did. Then they went Hemi,245;but the ultimate was the 265 Hemi six pack Bathurst Chargers....around 280 - 300HP. !!! Quicker than any V8 over the Quarter. In closing, those old slants could be enhanced to almost anything. Triple Weber 45DCOE's with the works. Mate has one with approx. 275HP. Waiting to go back into his Historic Racing, S Series Valiant 1962. Bit of a laugh...we called them "truck motors" due to their long stroke! But,man...the Torque ! I think more than any other, Tin Top racing in Aus. IS tops.

    1. but I'm not talking about the hemi six pack. I'm talking about this yawn inducing long life but low power 6. It's good enough to be in traffic, but won't impress anyone with how long it takes to get to the speed limit.
One of the previous years I was here, there was an Australian hemi Six Pack here at this event. I was real happy to see it https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/04/hemi-6-pack-charger-rt-from-australia.html
That the occasional car made for Australia, or Brazil shows up at this event, is a great reason to spend the 5 to 6 hours on the road to be at it. It was 2 hours to get to, 3.5 to get home.
