Been lucky to see,and hear, the HARS "Connie" in action a couple of times. I don't know about other airlines, but QANTAS used to close all passenger window shades,so they wouldn't become alarmed at the amount of oil smoke and fuel exhaust flame before finally settling into a steady idle! Once witness to a night take off at Avalon Int. airshow in Victoria,Aust. and the exhaust flame show was absolutely awesome! Highly recommended.
