90 miles an hour was how fast the cop was going in the 55 zone when he drove into the teens car. Now 2 girls, Kylie Lindsey and Isabella Chinchilla, 17 and 16 years old, are dead. Georgia State Trooper Capt calls this merely the 3rd case of “misjudged clearance” by the cop

Trooper Anthony J. Scott had been with Georgia State Patrol since 2011, new information has come to light suggests he was a repeat offender. He had been responsible for two crashes prior to the tragic accident on Saturday.

Trooper Anthony J. Scott was driving 90 mph and wasn't responding to a work call Saturday when he plowed into the back of a Nissan Sentra carrying the girls and two of their male friends, authorities said.

Police said the girls were riding in the backseat of the sedan as it cruised about 65 mph on the 55 mph highway in Carroll County. They pulled onto Highway 27 at Bowden Junction, just south of Interstate 20, in front of the state trooper, who crashed into the back of the sedan. Lindsey, who did not have her seatbelt on, was thrown from the car.

It's his third car crash involving "misjudged clearance," Georgia State Patrol spokesman Capt. Mark Perry told WSB-TV.

  1. This is why I have a zero tolerance policy for any mistakes by law enforcement. I don't care if the broken law was littering.
