There is one day left to get to Gene Winfield's 3rd annual open house Custom and Hot Rod show

http://www.c-we.com/piranha/GeneWinfield.htm for a quick biography of Gene...

just 2 vehicles he has made that you are probably familiar with are the shuttle from the original tv show Star Trek, and the police vehicle "Spinner" from Blade Runner

Here is what it looked like at 10 am, and the people just never stopped arriving!
Folllowing are some of the cool customs that caught my attention, and this is just a quick sample, I took about 300 photos and have many more to post, but wanted you to get a look so if you feel like it you can get to Gene's tomorrow. The show is on from 10 am to 6 pm. Exit the hwy 138 at Backus Rd, head east about 1/2 mile and then south about a mile, park anywhere along the road.

In and Out burger mobile restaurant was spotted on the 15 south of Los Angeles

• French fries and shakes cannot be prepared on the Cookout Trailer. Prices, terms and conditions are subject to change. Should this occur, you will be notified no less than 60 days prior to the event.

•Cookout Trailers are booked on a "first come, first served" basis. We advise you to book your cookout a minimum of 3 to 4 months in advance. Longer lead times are always beneficial.

•The minimum charge of $1,250 ( is about 1/2 the charge from 4 years ago of $2350 http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2006/11/in-and-out-will-show-up-to-your-event.html ) or 75% of your total estimated order (based on our "average" cheeseburger price) whichever is higher entitles you to 1.5 hours of serving time. Additional time may incur an overtime charge of $100 per half hour. Sales tax will be charged on all food items.

•Money is not accepted at the Cookout Trailer. It will be your responsibility to pre-sell tickets or have someone at the event to handle money. Final payment must be made at the completion of your event by check, Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

the odd design style of Paul Jaray, applied to a 1935 Maybach Streamliner coupe at the Paris Autoshow contrasted with the 1938 GAZ gl1

Above image from http://dieselpunks.blogspot.com/2010/06/perfect-streamline.html via: http://megamoto.tumblr.com/

Bottom photo was from Le Container I think.. not sure
Anyway, what a contrast of designs.. the Jaray at top was streamlined body, big cabin... opposite the GAZ below. Odd to have found these photos at about the same time.

An example of the cool vehicles that Bring A Trailer" has every day

Australian Charger Hemi Six Pack

Mercury Comet Cyclone

1965 Impala NASCAR racer

1959 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider, like the Ferris Bueller car
1957 BMW 503, like the Elvis post a couple weeks ago

Cord 813 Beverly

1922 Battistini coachwork Buick

1914 Hupmobile
So enjoy Bring A Trailer; http://bringatrailer.com/ there is no telling what will show up, last time I looked it was an SCCA racer Mustang from the late 60's, in need of restoration and then you'd be on the vintage racing circuit in great company!

Please do me a favor... rate my blog

I'm really curious what you think this blog is on a scale of one to ten.

Just learned the damn thing requires signing up and registering in order to add your rating.

Sorry about that, I detest all sign up or register nonsense categorically.

looks damn cool

I don't know what it is, but it came from the LaMans Classic series of galleries at: http://lecontainer.blogspot.com/

Ivan verified it is a concept car made by Citroën. Many informations here if you speak French :
