JFC, why the hell isn't anyone preventing that with 2 closing springs and a manual cable back up?
The manual cable can be (if a smart car owner or mechanic installs one with some brains) run through just one more pulley and you've got a new throttle cable in even of your normal accelerator cable breaking.
Doesn't anyone ever THINK anymore?
Never rely on the car to not break, have a back up for everything... or plan to not finish the race
and TOO MANY people have died of a wide open throttle in racing for the world to not have gotten around by now! The last race he drove a '53 Coronet which unfortunately crashed when the throttle stuck open when coming around a mountain bend at speed and launched off the road down a 150 foot hill. Yes, he and the copilot survived, but the old Dodge was toast. jsfuryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05376420982509061892noreply@blogger.com
