My da worked for Pan Am in Miami back in the late 40s early 50s. We use to fly regularly on the Statocruisers from NY Idlewild to Miami international. Too bad it was a great plane at the wrong time. Commercial jets were just on the horizon.
Oh wow! That must have been COOL! Yeah, dang it, some really fun and cool stuff came along just when things drastically changed and the world decided it was obsolete
How totally different 68 years ago. Although business class is not too bad for long flights today, it sure does not compare to this. Also, I'm old enough to remember that you dressed up to get on the plane and the stewardess was almost always a very good looking woman.

DeleteI look at this video and think, This is insane. You never see this kind of opulence today. What a great time to travel.
