of the hundreds of 8 tracks at the swap meet, I tried to put together a good collection so if when I get an 8 track player, my 69 Dodge will be period perfect
they were a buck a piece
I've heard some people go so far as to put change in the ashtray or on the carpet that is no newer than the year their car was made, and get matchbooks from around that year, maps for the glovebox from that era, etc
I had a dream last night where I found 3 matchbooks while stuck in a search for other things, and one of the matchbooks was ordinary size, the other two were the double size ones, and I thought to myself, "cool! Now my 8 track player will have an old 70s matchbook for the right look!" How crazy is that?!!!
Excellent choices, I'd ride with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI have a new eight track player still in the original box....
ReplyDeletewhy hasn't it been used and enjoyed? Something about being made obsolete by cassettes? Or just never installed, then never needed?
DeleteThe sounds of my youth , lets go cruising. Don't forget a matchbook to use for a shim with the 8 tracks.
